Macro-first meal planning · iOS · coming soon

A week of meals that provably hits your macros.

Set your protein floor and calories. Mealbird plans seven days that land on them — checked with arithmetic over USDA data, never AI guesses — then writes the shopping list.

7 of 7 days in band, estimated groceries $74.80 of a $75 budget — checked by arithmetic, not vibes.

Generated July 2026 for a 160g-protein cut. Protein grams per day (bar shows position in the band) and calories. Grocery figure is a disclosed estimate from average US prices.

AI meal apps guess.
Mealbird does the math.

We tore down the popular AI meal planners and re-added their numbers. One “840-calorie” dinner summed to 990. A “135g protein” serving contained about 55g. The plans looked confident; the arithmetic didn’t hold.

Mealbird’s numbers can’t drift, because the AI never writes them. It only chooses real ingredients and amounts — every macro you see is computed from USDA FoodData Central, and a plan that misses your targets never reaches your screen.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell it your targets

Protein floor, calories, weekly budget, allergies, what you won’t eat, and what your kitchen can actually cook.

  2. 2

Get a week that adds up

Real dishes, batch-friendly by design. Every single day lands inside your bands — validated before you ever see it. If your targets and budget can’t coexist, Mealbird says so up front and lets you choose what bends.

  3. 3

    Shop one honest list

Pack sizes, aisle order, and two prices told apart: what your cart costs today, and what this week’s food actually costs once the big packs carry over.
